High Point Market: A Return to Tradition with a Fresh Perspective

Each year that we visit the High Point Market, it feels like a design pilgrimage, where we return to a vibrant intersection of creativity, craftsmanship, and connection. This spring, our team here at Studio Elle spent several days exploring what is often dubbed the “Fashion Week of Home Furnishings,” and we walked away energized and inspired.

We kicked off our visit by spending two full days shopping alongside one of our wonderful clients, curating personalized selections for a project that will be completed at the end of 2025. The rest of our time was devoted to sourcing for other upcoming homes, really looking for those unique, meaningful pieces that will help bring each space to life.

The Return of Tradition and Warmth

Our team picked up on a design theme that reverberated through the market, which highlighted a refreshing return to traditional elements with a twist. We saw a beautiful embrace of rich, warm tones, including deep jewel tones, vibrant pops of color, and stunning shades of red. Monochromatic palettes also made a strong showing, adding a layered, thoughtful approach to minimalism.

This shift toward warmth and heritage feels timely. Grounded, yet forward-looking. It reflects what we often seek to achieve in our own work: spaces that feel timeless, inviting, and personal.

Brands That Left an Impression

Several vendors truly stood out to us this season, but there were three that won our hearts:

  • Hooker Furniture: Their collections continue to impress with their sheer range, spanning traditional, rustic, coastal, and contemporary. Whether we’re sourcing for a refined home office or a cozy bedroom, Hooker offers beautifully designed options with enduring quality.

  • Massoud: If you know, you know. Massoud’s handcrafted sofas, made in Texas for over 60 years, are an absolute dream. The level of comfort and customization is unmatched, and the fabric selections this season were especially gorgeous.

  • Four Hands: We always make a point to visit this Texas-based brand. Their pieces blend timeless sensibility with design versatility, making them a reliable favorite whether we’re pulling for a rustic, modern, or transitional project.

We also uncovered some hidden gems: vendors offering niche, artisanal products and others who specialize in sourcing and curating antique art. These discoveries are what make this market so special – they spark new ideas and open doors to unexpected possibilities.

Why We Make the Trek

One of the highlights of our job is accompanying clients to design markets like High Point. These visits allow us to thoughtfully furnish an entire home with pieces that are not just beautiful, but also tactile and tailored. Seeing furniture, art, and accessories in person means we can experience their quality firsthand, a crucial element when curating a home.

It’s also an important time for building relationships. Strengthening connections with our reps and discovering new vendors helps us continue to deliver exceptional design solutions and broaden our creative resources.

Where We Happily Stay

While High Point Market is just a short 25-minute drive away, we usually stay in Winston-Salem, a charming city that has become our home away from home during market week. We've discovered a few favorite restaurants (ask us for recommendations!) and a cozy little bar with all the character you’d hope for when ending a long day of sourcing.

As always, we left this market inspired, full of ideas, and excited for what’s ahead. If you're planning a new project and want to collaborate with us on a curated, design-forward experience, market season is the perfect time to start the conversation.

Until next time, High Point.
